EA To Release Range Of Toys
Global computer animator, EA Sports have recently announced that they will be providing the branding for a new range of sports equipment created by Toy Island. The high tech “virtual coaching tools”, which will use motion and infrared sensors, are being designed for children of the ages of three to twelve which is a very large spectrum.
The various sports that the equipment will be built for is baseball, American Football, Basketball, Hockey and ‘Soccer’ or more commonly known as Football. EA Sports boss Peter Moore said that “Our goal is to take the EA Sports brand much deeper into the fabric of sports, and into new markets that allow more people to unleash their inner spirit of both sports and competition.
Considering that EA Sports are more known for their prominence in the computer game industry this is a very interesting development for the company. It will add so much to the already large brand and is sure to almost double their profits. This new idea will also open the doors for new relationships to be carved with local retailers and will get the EA Sports brand recognised on a much larger scale than ever before. I am not sure that they will be making items like scalextric or model trains but you can be sure to expect things like, footballs, shin pads, football boots, action figures and many more are still to be announced.
It is understandable that EA will be looking to branch out of the norm, especially in such an un-predictable time in terms of our global economy. It is pretty wise of EA to be looking outside of computer animation and into toy making because it is broadening their profit stream. Many companies have been put into liquidation recently because of their lack of knowledge on the current economic market. In order to help keep your business up and standing on its own two feet you will need to diversify the product ranges. This is absolutely imperitive.
Football Wages to Drop?
Whether you are just viewing it or participating it everyone in the world enjoys football. When tournaments such as the World Cup are on whole families and countries get together in celebration of their national team.
We all know that for a long while football has been one of the highest paid industries in the world. Resent offerings that Manchester City have been offering for Kaka are in the region of around half a million a week. I just can't get my head around how can a football club gives some one five hundred thousand per week to kick a ball?
Well to be honest I do not think that it will last much longer due to the current economic climate that we are facing. The credit crunch started in late 2008 and things are set to get worse in 2009. The two industries that are affected the most are the property industry and the oil industry. Plenty of the club owners such as Roman Abramovich will be finding a hard time with the current economic situation.
A barrel of oil has dropped it's price to a very low amount leaving millionaires shuffling around the companies so that they make a healthy profit. I believe this means pulling back on the spending that they have been doing for football clubs. Yes I know that football is a very profitable niche, but when you are giving only one person half a million a week, how profitable can the margins be? This is even worse if a football club fail to lift a trophy for a few years.
I think a lot of footballers are highly over rated and no one in the world unless you are a business owner and have worked hard for it deserves to get that amount of money. No wonder we are in a recession when companies and banks spend ridiculously.

Global soccer player faces jail
The global English football star, Steven Gerrard could be put in prison for up to five years if he is found guilty of assault in Liverpool earlier this week. The alleged assault was bought up from by a disturbance at a Merseyside nightclub on December 26th. Liverpool football club have issued a statement saying that they would offer Steven all the help he needs in order to get him out of this mess. The 28 year old was arrested along with five other men near the Lounge Inn in Southport which is on the outskirts of Liverpool. A 34 year old man was taken to hospital with facial injuries after the alleged incident.
Steven Gerrard has played for Liverpool for the last ten years and in all fairness similar accusations regularly pop up around famous football stars as they are constantly in the lime light with the public. The Football Association in the UK said it would not be making any comment on the situation regarding Steven Gerrard and his position in the England squad was not under question. The FA added that players will continue to be considered for playing for their national team while police investigations are being processed.
Steven Gerrard has been capped by England 70 times and has captained his country four times which is an incredible professional football achievement. He was made an MBE last year and received an honorary fellowship from Liverpool John Moores University. There is no doubt that he is one of the best footballers this country has seen and to think that he may spend time in a local prison is almost impossible to believe. We will simply have to wait and see the outcome yet it not un-heard of that global stars such as, Steven Gerrard always get accused of things like this when in actual fact they are not true what so ever!

Keeping Active With Great Sport Games
We all have played sports at one moment or another in our existance, sport is cool, enjoyable, exciting and it gives you a great bout of a healthy body, mind and soul. But what are the most known sports to date? Why do people adore them? Let’s take a brief look at the most popular games.
Football
Probably one of the best known sports in the world, countries come together whenever a football match is broadcast. Whether it’s the world cup or the champion’s league final, football is a truly exhilarating game to play and too watch.
Boxing
We have seen some great boxers come and go such as Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson and many more. Seeing a person with skill fighting in the ring is very entertaining. Playing boxing may not be everyones nature, but for some it is a life times dream.
Golf
A game that almost anyone of any age can play. I remember visiting theme parks and playing crazy golf, the game can be very stress free and very exciting at the same moment. It’s a bit of the opposite of boxing, in golf you actually like to play the game rather than watch it on the television, which can be quite boring. So load up your golf leisure batteries and head for the green.
Rugby
Another sport that is quite similar to football, a lot of people tend to support various rugby clubs and are keen to see them play every week. The fame of this game has grown uncontrollably over the last few years.
F1 Racing
This is still undecided as to whether it is a sport or not. When it comes down to it how much excercise can you get by driving a car or vehicle. There are a lot of humans that do like viewing F1, in my personal opinion I could not think of anything more tedious than sitting there and watching car whizzing around.
